(222) 32 23 42On Protecting the Domestic Market from Unsafe Products
The national sanitary and epidemiological service is carrying out a number of measures with respect to businesses trading in both imported and domestically produced goods in order to protect the domestic market from unsafe products.
In the course of this work over the past week, from October 2 to 9, violations of the legislation on sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population were found in 85.1% of cases involving food products and 55.9% of cases involving non-food products.
The main violations identified were: failure to comply with storage conditions; sale of goods past their expiry date, without labeling (or with incomplete labeling), or without documents confirming their safety; and laboratory-confirmed cases of unsafe products being placed on the market (products that do not meet hygienic safety standards).
Laboratory support of supervisory activities over the past week confirmed the potential hazard of 32 samples (20.6%) of food products (19 for microbiological and 13 for sanitary-chemical parameters) and 2 samples (1.6%) of non-food products (for sanitary-chemical parameters).
Measures in accordance with the law have been taken with regard to all violations identified.
As a result of this work, more than 7.6 tonnes of food products and about 3,264 non-food items were kept off the domestic market during the week.
